ASTM F2413-05
ASTM F2413-05 An organization which plays an important leadership role in addressing the standardization needs of the global marketplace.  ASTM has answered the call with consensus standards that have made products and services safer, better and more cost effective.  ASTM continues to be the standards forum of choice to a diverse range of industries in solving standardization challenges.
Composite Toe
Composite Toe A composite toe cap is made from a non-ferrous elastomeric material.  This material is also light weight and will not conduct heat or electricity.  Composite toes meet or exceed ASTM F2413-05 Standard for protective footwear.
Steel Toe
Steel Toe Non corrosive steel toes used in footwear to provide protection for the toe area.  Meets or exceeds ASTM F2413-05 Standard for protective footwear.
Soft Toe
Soft Toe

No protective toe cap.

ESD
ESD

Safety footwear used in areas where the generation of static electricity could harm sensitive electrical equipment or ignite flammable materials.  The footwear allows small charges of static electricity to be dissipated into the walking surface, thus reducing the accumulation of static electricity.  Examples include people who work on circuit boards, computer chips or paint shops.  These shoes should not be worn in areas where there are open circuits or highly charged equipment.

DR Dual Resistor
DR Dual Resistor Now ESD performance takes the next step with
DR dual-resistor technology. It’s so precise, it’s patented -- under U.S. Patent 6,421,222.
Electrical Hazard
Electrical Hazard

Safety footwear provides workers who may come in contact with live circuits, wires or highly charged electrical equipment, a secondary source of protection from electrical shock because of the insulating properties that stop a current from being grounded for a certain length of time.  Such foot protection is provided under dry conditions and the insulating properties will deterioriate in wet environments and with wear.   These shoes must not be worn in areas where there is static discharge or micro-circuit hazards.

Conductive
Conductive

Safety footwear used in areas with highly volatile materials and must be completely grounded to prevent any build up of static electricity.  It is made with special materials and cements that offer no electrical resistance.  Examples include people who work in munitions plants, fireworks factories, petroleum refineries and rocket fuel production.  These shoes should not be worn in areas where there are open circuits or highly charged equipment as they offer no protection.

Metatarsal Guard
Metatarsal Guard A Metatarsal Guard is an appliance added to footwear, designed to provide additional protection to the instep area.  Traditionally used in areas where there is a higher risk of objects falling or rolling onto the instep of the worker's foot.
Flex-Met
Flex-Met Flex-Met - An anatomically shaped appliance permanently inserted internally in the instep area of the shoe and designed to provide additional protection to the instep area.  Meets or exceeds the ASTM F2413-05 standard for Metatarsal footwear.
Puncture Resistant
Puncture Resistant A patented non-metallic insole material is permanently affixed inside the shoe to retard the penetration of certain objects through the bottom of the sole of the shoe.  Meets or exceeds the ASTM F2413-05 Standard for Puncture Resistance.
Slip Resistant
Slip Resistant

Slip resistance or coefficient of friction is the most commonly used way to measure the relative slipperiness of footwear.  Two of the more common testing machines are the James Machines and the Mark II.

Outdoor Traction
Outdoor Traction

The shoe incorporates a special lug design on the bottom of the shoes' sole to provide improved traction on grass covered outddor surfaces.

Security Friendly
Security Friendly

100% Non-metallic

Insulated
Insulated

A Thinsulate insulation material is added to the lining in boots to help keep the foot warm and comfortable in colder environments.

Waterproof
Waterproof A combination of water resistant materials and construction which helps protect the foot from getting wet in environments where excess water is present.
F2A Athletic Insert
F2A Athletic Insert

Soft molded polyurethane insert that cushions and cradles your foot, provides additional shock absorbing blown polyurethane ball and heel pads and a moisture absorbing fabric covering.  These inserts are compatible with ESD and Conductive footwear.

F2 Insert
